The weather conditions in the Somerset West region is generally not too bad throughout the year; seasons are mainly warm, with slight rain during some winter months, but not enough to keep you away from the sea! As with any other towns, driving from Strand (near Cape Town) to Somerset West you might find that going from humid dry conditions you can feel more wind and even a bit of rain as you head into the Somerset region. On the days where there is more sun than anything else and the wind seems to have taken to another area, the beach is a wonderful place to be.

Tourism isn’t that big in the area, so if you are coming from another country or city, you could visit any time of the year as the weather conditions in the Somerset West region are reasonable all year round and with a pleasurable climate, you will be able to explore the area properly. Although the climate is generally enjoyable, one shouldn’t presume that everyday all day there will be sun shining in Somerset West; constant sunshine with no rain is bad for any area. What you should do is, when you have dates of your visit to the city, use those dates if they aren’t too far into the future and look up the weather predictions for that specific period.

Summer is the most popular of the seasons to go on holiday during, but that’s when everyone is on holiday, so traffic and queues could be an issue. Not necessarily in the Somerset West area, but there are many other popular holiday destinations that are big tourism spots near Cape Town that might make traveling difficult for you. If you have no choice but to use summer as your time to travel, then that is no reason to worry; your trip will still be wonderful and you shouldn’t have a hard time finding a beach that isn’t too crowded so you can at least be near the sea. Weather conditions in the Somerset West region differs, so find out the finer details when you are able to be more specific.
